Healing Hearts Club

Join us on the second Thursday of every month for the Healing Hearts Club from 6:30-8:00 p.m. This group is for kids and teens ages 8-17 who have experienced the death of a loved one. Group will consist of large-group activities, and small-group discussion time. Small groups are made up of:

Littles (8-10 year olds)

Middles (11-13 year olds)

Teens (14-17)

The group meets once a month throughout the 2016-17 school year. Patricipants will find support and learn coping skills in a safe, supportive environment. Food and fun will also be provided!

Fee: Group is provided at no charge. Donations appreciated.

Family Group

Join us on the first Thursday of every month for Family Group from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Designed for adults and children who have experienced a significant loss, this group provides an opportunity to have fun, eat ice cream, and participate in activities that will strengthen the family connection.  

After creating your own dessert masterpiece at our sundae bar, parents and kids will be separated into age appropriate groups. Parents will be able to connect with others who are raising grieving kids while kids will hear from others their age that they are not alone in their experience.

Group is open to both Grief Center clients and the community at large.  

Fee: Group is provided at no charge. Donations appreciated.

Grief Journey

The Grief Center offers two general loss groups for adults who have experienced the death of a loved one. Grief Journey Groups are also open to those who have already completed a group and want to continue their grief journey with others.

Grief Journey - Mondays 6:30 - 7:30 / Tuesdays 1:00 - 2:00

Fee: Grief Journey groups are provided free of charge. Donations are appreciated. New clients attend a one-on-one orientation before joining group and pay a one-time $20.00 registration fee.

Loss-Specific Groups for Adults

The Grief Center also offers loss-specific grief groups throughout the year. Each group meets for six consecutive weeks and addresses the unique experiences of group participants. General topics include coping with loss, remembering loved ones, the needs of grievers, changes after loss and caring for oneself while grieving. An individual orientation is required prior to loss-specific group participation. 

Loss-specific groups include:

Pregnancy and Infant Loss
Child Loss (2-12)
Child Loss (12 - 20)
Child Loss (21+)
Spouse and Partner Loss 
Survivors of Suicide Loss

Fee: $15 per session or $60 if prepaid for all six sessions. New clients attend a one-on-one orientation before joining group and pay a one-time $20.00 registration fee.
